Who handles your information
Hive & Wonder is founded by Tanya Mingolla and Nancy Cho. You can contact us about privacy at hiveandwonder@gmail.com or (714) 794-5652. This policy covers our website, inquiries, business communications and information used to provide our services.
The website is for adults arranging services for families, homeschools and preschools. It does not offer child accounts, direct online learning for children, or a form intended for children to complete.
Information you choose to share
- Inquiries: an adult’s name and email or phone number, preferred contact method, city or general area, setting and space preferences, general age ranges, goals, and optional notes.
- Services: agreed scheduling and access details, a service address when needed, the authorized adult or organizational contact, preferences, material inventories and condition records, and service correspondence.
- Payments, when services are purchased: invoices, transaction amounts and payment references. The current website does not accept payments or collect card numbers.
- Communications: messages and attachments you send, and contact or voicemail information processed through our business email and Google number.
- Photos and testimonials: only material you separately authorize us to collect or use, as explained in our photo and review policy.
Children’s information and sensitive details
General age ranges and interests usually provide enough information to begin. Do not put children’s names, birth dates, medical records, identification documents, or photographs in the inquiry form. We request only information reasonably needed for the agreed service and ask adults to share selection restrictions rather than detailed diagnoses whenever possible.
If child-related information is needed later, an authorized parent, guardian, or school representative must provide it through an agreed appropriate channel. We do not use it for advertising profiles. Schools should not send student records, class lists, or education plans without a valid basis, appropriate permissions and an agreed handling arrangement.
If you believe a child submitted personal information directly or that information was provided without proper authority, contact us so we can investigate and remove it when appropriate.
How we use information
We use information to answer inquiries, confirm service availability, plan spaces and materials, arrange visits and exchanges, communicate about your agreement, address safety concerns, manage payments and returns, and meet recordkeeping or legal duties.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use child-related information to build advertising profiles. We do not add you to a marketing list merely because you ask a question or become a client. Marketing communications require a separate choice and a working opt-out.
We will not record a live call without the notice and consent required by applicable law. Leaving a voicemail creates a message for us and our telephone provider to process.
Providers and other disclosures
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and supplies site-performance measurement. When inquiry delivery is enabled, Cloudflare processes the form and sends its notification to our Gmail inbox. Google processes business email and communications through our Google number.
Providers process information needed to deliver their services under their own applicable terms and privacy practices. Technical requests may include IP addresses, browser or device information, requested URLs, approximate location derived from network information, and security or performance data. We do not independently collect precise device location through this site.
We share service information only with people and providers who need it for the agreed work, with your authorization, or where legally necessary. We may disclose limited information to comply with a lawful request, fulfill required child-safeguarding reports, protect safety, address fraud, or establish or defend legal rights. A transfer of business records would be subject to applicable law, safeguards and any required notice.
The consultation form
Answers stay on the current page while you complete and review them. The site does not save these answers to browser storage. When sending is unavailable, the form lets you review answers but does not deliver them. When available, the separate “Send my request” action sends the submitted answers to our owners’ email inbox.
To reduce duplicate submissions, the delivery system keeps a request reference, a fingerprint of the submitted answers, and delivery status. It schedules deletion of this record after about 24 hours; the record does not contain the raw answers. Rate-limiting checks use a fingerprint of the adult contact details. Website hosting and email providers may keep their own technical logs.
A delivery acknowledgment is not an appointment confirmation. If delivery cannot be confirmed, your answers remain visible and the site directs you to contact us rather than automatically sending again.
Cookies, analytics and browser signals
We have not added advertising pixels, behavioral advertising tools, or a marketing-cookie system. Cloudflare may process technical information for security and performance and may add its performance-measurement script. Its services can use necessary security technologies depending on the request.
Our website does not intentionally track you across unrelated websites for advertising. It does not change its operation in response to a browser Do Not Track signal. Because we do not sell information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or advertising-sharing activity to switch off with Global Privacy Control; we honor any applicable legal requirements for recognized opt-out signals.
External websites you choose to open have their own tracking and privacy practices. If we introduce optional tracking or a new data use, we update this policy and obtain consent where required before enabling it.
Retention and security
We retain unconverted inquiries for no longer than 12 months after the last contact unless you ask us to delete them sooner or a specific legal need requires preservation. We keep active-service information while needed for the relationship, material returns and resolving issues. Contract, invoice and tax records may be retained for up to seven years after the relationship ends, or longer when a specific legal duty or active dispute requires it.
We limit access to information needed for the work and use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No website, email service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, complete payment credentials or detailed health records through ordinary contact channels.
Deletion is subject to necessary legal retention and the backup or logging practices of service providers. Preserved records are restricted to the reason for retention, not repurposed for marketing.
Access, correction, deletion and privacy rights
Contact us to request access to information you provided, correction of an error, deletion, or an explanation of its use. We consider these requests even when a particular statutory privacy-rights regime does not apply to our business. Where law grants additional rights, those rights apply without being reduced by this policy.
We use proportionate verification to protect information from being given to the wrong person and may ask an authorized agent to show permission. Do not send an ID document unless we specifically explain why it is legally necessary and provide an appropriate channel. We respond without unreasonable delay and within applicable deadlines.
We explain any legal reason we cannot fulfill a request in full. We do not retaliate for exercising a privacy right. Withdrawing optional photo or marketing permission does not cancel ordinary services.
Policy changes and contact
The effective date and version appear on this page. We publish updates here and provide additional notice or obtain consent for material new uses when required. We do not treat a later edit as permission for an incompatible use of previously collected information.
